As coaches at Alton RFC we believe in asking young players to take responsibility for their own performance as early as possible and to find their own answers for the problems they face on the pitch. Don't allow them to get into the blaming mentality - don't blame the pitch, the weather, the ref or even worse, your team mates! Taking ownership is a valuable life lesson for young people but first, parents and coaches must empower them to do so.
