Geoff's funeral will take place at St Lawrence Church (opposite the Eight Bells), Alton on Thursday 21 August at 2:00pm.

A private burial will follow, but the family would like all those that can to proceed to the Alton RFC Clubhouse Anstey Park Alton immediately after the service for refreshments. The family will join us there.

The family have also requested that there be no floral tributes except their own, but if you would like to make a donation, then please send your cheque, payable to the Parkinson's Disease Society, to Charles Read and Daughter, Turk Street, Alton. If you would prefer, a cash donation at the Clubhouse can be made.

Gentlemen are requested to wear the club tie but if you are not a member of ARFC, then any sporting club tie is fine; and if not that, any colour but black.

Geoff had been a member of Alton Rugby Football Club since the 1960's and became Club Chairman and later President and served in those positions for 27 years. A feat that is unprecedented in the Club's history and is not likely to be equalled. He also served with distinction on the Hampshire RFU Committee for many years. He and his family has been close personal friends of my family for over 30 years and I know that you will share with me the love and good wishes we send to Ginny and the Frith family at this difficult time.
