Alton RFC has supported the local community for many years and continues to do so. The club continues to support the local community with fund raising initiatives, supporting local schools with rugby specific coaching as well as organising rugby and non rugby competitions for county wide schools and clubs. We encourage the participation of both young and old males and females.

Alton RFC hosts the annual Hampshire Schools Under 14 Tens competition in association with Perins School & Community Sports College, Alresford and have done so for four years. This has now become the entry level Hampshire Schools Competition, with schools competing in one of the three competitions: Emerged Schools, Emerging Schools and Developing Schools. This competition is now leading many more schools into the Under 15 and Under 18 fifteen-a-side competitions. Our work within the community also involves;

• Providing regular after school rugby coaching sessions for Eggars School, Alton.
• Providing coaching and first aid support for Alton College rugby home and away games.
• Organising a sporting competition called "It's a Knockout" for local Hampshire Primary Schools.
• Running Tag Rugby sessions for the local community during the summer on Thursday evenings - an opportunity for families young and old to keep fit and socialise.
• Assisting local Primary Schools and Secondary Schools in developing rugby within their schools.
• Hosting the very popular annual Alton Junior 7's tournament which will be in its twentieth year in 2007.
• Supporting the charity "Hampshire Special Needs Rugby".
