Junior Rugby
The Junior section of Alton RFC was formed in the early 1970's and has produced many excellent results and a number of outstanding players. The benefits of this steady but continuous success can now be seen in the senior Club where 6 of the current 1st XV squad started their Rugby with Alton Mini / Junior teams.
During the 30 year history of the Junior section, Alton have produced six England Schools Internationals, countless Hampshire and London Division players. In fact, one of our previous under 7's, Johnny Wilkinson, was a member of the victorious World Cup winning squad in 2003.
As recognition of the excellent standards that have become the norm at the club we were the first club to be awarded the HRFU Seal of Approval on 3rd October 1993 and have since continued to develop our coaching and club management expertise. Alton Junior Rugby also assists local Primary and Secondary Schools in developing rugby within their school system.
