Alton Undone By Late 'field Tries
10 Sep 07
Alton's Senior Colts slipped to a 25-10 defeat against Petersfield at Penns Place but it was by no means all doom and gloom for the Anstey Park side.
A young and largely untested side competed keenly throughout and were rewarded with a try from centre Bart van Heerwijn.
Two late tries ensured a comfortable, if flattering, margin of victory for 'field, who were well worth their win.
Stuart Beale, one of a crop of U16s making their Colts debut, added a conversion and a penalty.
Alton have no league game this weekend as several of the players are involved
with County trials, but those not involved will play in a friendly against Gosport and Fareham.
