The project is a player and coach education initiative aimed at raising the profile and standards of playing and coaching in the highly specialised area of propping.

The project is aimed specifically at players in the U13 and U14 age-groups (boys) and U14 (girls).

Hampshire RFU will be running five Prop Idol road-shows across the county at which players and coaches will benefit from the expert knowledge of guest coaches, Gavin Williams (RFU Coach Development Officer and Forwards Coach for England Women) and Graham Smith (Forwards Coach for England Women), and Jason Bowers (Chinnor RFC Head Coach)

The schedule of these events is set out below.

• Tottonians RFC - Monday 4th February, 6.45 -9pm
• Andover RFC - Monday 18th February, 6.45 -9pm
• Basingstoke RFC - Monday 3rd March, 6.45 -9pm
• Havant RFC - Monday 17th March, 6.45 -9pm
• Vectis RFC (venue tbc) - Monday 31st March, 6.45 -9pm

Players do NOT have to be existing 'front-rowers' - enthusiasm and a willingness to 'have a go' are the most important qualities.
