The Alton U9 squad went through the pool stages in rampant fashion at the annual Vectis tournament on the Isle of Wight, convincingly beating Fawley, Chichester, Wanstead and Trojans A.

The tackling and breakdown play was top notch and they scored 15 tries, conceding only a single try in all 4 matches. Topping their pool, Alton came up against a good Reigate side in the cup quarter-final but swept them aside beating them 4 tries to nil. In the semi-final, they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by the joint winners of the tournament, Bracknell, who shared the trophy with Beccehamians from Kent after the final ended 0-0.

The squad ended the season on a high, playing some superb rugby in the process. The boys showed great team spirit and commitment all weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the day. They showed they can compete with some of the very best teams in the South-east and are looking forward to carrying on in the same vein next season!
