An entertaining pre-season warm up game.

The game kicked-off in balmy conditions with both sides taking advantage of the perfect albeit hot conditions for running rugby. Unfortunately, Aldermaston were short of experienced front row players, forcing the game to be played with uncontested tight contests which did encourage a much more open game to be played.

The game was played in four quarters and after three of these Alton were clearly the dominant side with many tries having been scored despite dogged defence from the opposition. However, the fourth quarter very much belonged to Aldermaston, during which they scored three tries taking their total tally to seventeen points.

A game played in great spirit with the referee fully appreciating that this was just a pre-season warm up and enabling both Aldermaston and Alton to blow away a few cobwebs!

Final score: Alton 49 - Aldermaston 17.
