Probably this squad's best showing yet in a 7s tournament. They finished 2nd in their group after good wins against Havant and Maidenhead and a narrow, competitive loss to Basingstoke. Best performance of the day was a close fought contest in the semi-final of the Cup against eventual tournament winners, Chichester. The 4-2 defeat was Chichester's closest result of the day as the Alton lads took it up strongly and competed really well.

The U14s can be proud of being Alton's most competitive squad in this tournament, playing hard and fair and not without style throughout. We'd like to thank everyone at the club for organising such a brilliant event, particularly Paul & Hazel Cantoni, it was enjoyable and memorable despite the weather.

... and well done to Steve Jenkins, the HRURS and the Alton club refs who officiated superbly throughout the day. Have never seen such well organised and equitable reffing at a Junior tournament, especially the very effective teams of 5 deployed later on. Top job!!
