In the final move of the match, Alton scored a try to level the scores against Chichester but missed the conversion which would have secured a well-deserved victory. Two solid wins against Farnham and High Wycombe B followed but Alton finished second in their group on points difference.

Haslemere won the group with High Wycombe A as runners up. Haslemere won a close semi against Alton then went on to beat Chichester convincingly in the Cup final.
