This was the semi finals of the Hampshire Plate competition and the Alton squad started this match in a determined fashion.

Having won the toss Alton decided to play up the slope in the first half and Fordingbridge kicked off.

However within three minutes and before the first line out or scrum Alton had established a 12-0 lead which they extended to a half time lead of 39-12.

In an effort to give the bench game time Alton had used all the bench players and rested some of the stars but went on to record a full time score of 68-20. To Fordingbridge's credit they never gave up, scoring three tries one conversion and a drop goal to Alton's 12 Tries and 4 conversions.

The benefits of hours of handling practice on the training field were in evidence in this game with the ball being moved with accuracy and purpose, several deft offloads leading to the following scores.

Tries:  Seb Clarke (2), Charlie Crumpton, Josh Saunders, Max Rhodes (3), Kamil Tomaslewski and Douglas Wickes (3). Wickes also added four conversions.

Alton now await Farnborough in the Hampshire under 13's Plate Final
