Haslemere
77 - 0
Alton

Alton arrived with a large but weakened squad as they were without their county players who were involved in the Hampshire v Middlesex fixtures. Apparently, Haselmere only had 12 players but somehow gathered a full team and subs by kick off. The match proved to be an unequal battle; whilst the Alton forwards battled manfully the backs were without shape, particularly when pressing in defence and the Haslemere backs had a field day when afforded such a lot of space to play in. The Alton scrum performed well and pushed their opponents around at will in the second half, but the line out was a similarly one sided affair in Haslemere's favour; Alton were just too short to compete. Charlie Hibbert, Joe Randall and Doug Lowe took the game to Haslemere up front but too often found themselves without support.
In the backline Jack Messenger was almost solely up for tackling but having to come in to pick up the breaking centres he was leaving overlaps a plenty on the outside which the speedy Haslemere wingers finished off easily.
You would of thought that once Haslemere were 50-0 up they would remove he stronger players and make a more even contest of it, but their coaches were having none of that equity nonsense. It seemed they had a point to prove to themselves and so allowed the drubbing to go on. Perhaps that's the way it's done in Surrey these days?
