Alton
25 - 7
Romsey

This was a match for the full squad to participate in, a few "first teamers" were rested and plenty were playing in very unfamiliar positions. Romsey took the game to Alton in the first half, a game strewn with error but full of endeavour. The teams turned around 5-7 and Romsey were full value for their lead. Alton added more shape to the backline in the second half and ran away with the scoring 20-0.
The highlight of the game was a committed tackle by the Romsey wing, Jake, to bring down Alton flanker Ralph Andrews, who was looking favourite to score under the posts after a 60 yeard run before Jake brought him down from behind.
Alton were delighted when Charlie Hibbert registered his first try of the season after months off with a hip injury. Not a day for the kickers, all 5 Alton tries went unconverted.
Alton points
Tries - Ralph Andrews, Josh Smith (2), Ed Simmons, Charlie Hibbert
