Alton Rugby Football Club

Men's 2nd XV

Wherever there’s a competitive 1st XV there’s always a development squad right behind them pushing players through when needed and ensuring that competition for places is kept high. In fact, a key feature of the club is that the players are not refered to as 1st XV and 2nd XV but as a collective squad. Without wishing to display any less competitive spirit than the 1st XV the 2nds are characterised by a tremendous team spirit and sense of fun. This is Community rugby at its very best!

The 2nd XV play once again in Hampshire Junior Merit Table Division One having won promotion from Division Two as champions in season 2009-10.

The priority for this squad now lies in recruitment of new players of all ages and skill levels. There's always a warm welcome at Anstey Park, so come on down - what's stopping you?

Training

Senior Men’s training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 19:15 – 21:00 at our training ground at Anstey Park, Alton. Team selections for the coming weekend’s fixtures are generally done on a Tuesday after the session.

If you are interested in joining the squad then please either turn up on one of the training nights or contact the Club Captain Jim Gay.
