Lesson Learned at London Irish

Moments of excellence show how teamwork pays off

Well done to the boys that played in the London Irish festival today. Lots of effort from everyone and some moments of brilliance, particularly in the great win against Farnborough.

Some of the matches today were very physical and you held your own. Special mention goes to Jamie Drysdale for the most crunching tackle of the day!  We also worked hard at the rucks, especially in the Farnborough game. Well done in particular to Freddie Millar for getting stuck in.

In attack we had plenty of good runs forward into space from many in the squad, with James Richardson in particular making some good ground. And we had a great example of how try scoring opportunities can be created when we manage to spread the ball wide with Johnny Maddock's great speed down the line to score.

We've plenty to work on still but the squad today showed how try scoring opportunities can be created when we all work together as a team, with good support at the breakdown (i.e. ruck and maul) to win the ball and pass it out into space. If we can do this consistently then we will have plenty of success in the future.
