Alton Rugby Football Club

U13 news 17th December, 2012

Hi all,

Well done to all of you who survived kitchen & bar duty today on a day when the clubhouse was absolutely heaving. Huge thanks go to Mel L, Sarah G, Kendra, Terry, Richard & Phil. Your help really is appreciated by all at the club- thank you. Thanks also to Guy who survived his first ref’ing experience as well. Great work all.

Thanks also to Sarah McK, Freya, Dave & Jane A for a very successful water to wine fundraiser. £100 was raised (finally….at the 4th attempt- thank you weather for being kind to us)!

I have a couple of important messages on the social side too:

1. Fizz/ drinks for next Sunday!

Our “social secretary” Moddy, voted in today, unanimously (whether she liked it or not!) & Jane, her Partner in crime, have decided that drinks champagne/ fizz or other are a requirement for Sun 23rd Dec. If you’d like to partake in the festivities during & (obviously...) after training next week, please bring along something to share: e.g. a bottle of the sparkly stuff (to drink however you fancy- straight/ as bucks fizz/ black velvet etc) If fizz isn’t your cup of tea, just bring an alternative. Please note: we may need to give the club a corkage fee if the bar is open. We’ll also need some plastic glasses & mince pies/ other edibles as well.

We’ll meet up either under Arthur, the horse chestnut tree or on diggers (depending where we’re training) & set up camp. If the weather is awful, we’ll decant to the clubhouse a bit earlier….Please contact Moddy to let her know what you’re bringing. Moddy: put me down as bringing Fizz & emergency straws (in case no one brings glasses) :)

Please do come & join the coaching team & the the rest of squad in the clubhouse. It is Christmas after all & it would be very rude not to ;)

2. Girls Night Out on Friday 21st Dec

The plan is to go out on Friday from around 7pm for some food & drinks. Please let Moddy know if you’d like to come along so we can judge numbers. So far, lots have shown interest. Please let Moddy know asap if you’d to come along & she can try to sort something out for us. Since sophistication is the order of the day, men are welcome to come along but must wear appropriate clothing for a laaydeeee. Dresses, heels, tights etc are acceptable but absolutely no crass lingerie please <—Dai & Theo please take note!

Finally, Please have a look through your kit bags for Charlie’s training top (size Med) & also for Edward's gum shield. It’s white & moulded (expensively) by his dentist. If you find it, please contact Sarah by email.

Many thanks & a very happy Xmas to all those of you who will not be around next Sunday. Please note there is NO training this Thursday (20th Dec).

Wendy
