This table shows how the squad has improved markedly over last season. At U13 we were over-reliant on just 3 players who scored over 80% of our tries. Our strike options were clearly limited. This season, even with top try scorer Charlie Hibbert out injured, no less than 13 players have scored tries and from all positions on the park, which is undoubtedly due to a more effective and expansive, 15-man game plan.
An average strike rate of 4.5 tries per match is a fantastic statistic, particularly when we've worked so hard this season on having a robust and frugal defence. Our squad continues to grow in both physical size and numbers and attendance figures in training are very encouraging - we regularly have over 20 players turning out on Thursday evenings in all weathers.
This must be testament to how much the players are enjoying their rugby, the style we want to play and simply being with their mates, playing the best game in the world!
