The U14s got their season off to a great start with an emphatic win away at Trojans. The first match of the season saw Alton take on League 1 rivals Trojans on a fine day and a fast track.

Last season Trojans defeated Alton at Anstey Park 12-39 in the U13 Hampshire Cup on their way to a creditable semi final place. Alton, led by captain Jake Hadley, turned that result around with a strong pack performance and a back line which went through their moves with pace, precision and powerful running. On the down side the squad's injury list grows with Joe Buller (arm), Charlie Hibbert (hip) and Ed Simmons (collar bone) all sidelined. Our best wishes go to all for a speedy recovery.

The squad eagerly await their new playing shirts for the 2009-10 season, the Nike design is the same as the Alton senior's strip but with the badge correctly placed on the front!
