Update to Squad Information Sheet

Welcome to Alton RFC’s U15 squad: Information for All Players & Parents

Players: All squad members have DOBs between 01/09/1999 and 31/08/2000.

Coaches: Dai Bugler (Head Coach, Level 2 RFU); Number 2: Theo Androuliakos (Level 1 RFU); Greg Dalton (Level 1 RFU); Adam Burden continue as per last season. Josh Smith joins the coaching team this season as backs coach. Welcome Josh!

Training: Tuesdays 6.30- 8pm and Sundays 10am- 12pm (when there is no match). Showers & changing facilities are available (as long as the seniors are training too; they usually are!) Note: Players will only be allowed into the clubhouse after training if their kit is mud-free so having a shower not only spares your car seatsbut means you can pop in for a drink after training.

At: Alton RFC, Anstey Park, GU34 2NB.

Bring gum shield/mouth guard; boots with rugby studs (preferably); water bottle; training kit, shorts, shirt, waterproof top/ bottoms (Please note: any kit worn for contact must have no zips to avoid injuries). Please also make sure your son has an inhaler in his kit bag, even if he uses it infrequently.

Matches: All fixtures are now on the website. The squad arrive at 10am for pre-match training with   matches kicking off at 11am. Arrive in training kit (need waterproof, warm top & maybe track suit bottoms for when not on field). Match playing shirts are provided but you’ll need black rugby shorts and Alton rugby socks. Skins/thermals with or without pads can be worn if desired.

Bring “number ones” for after the match: black trousers, shirt & tie, smart (school) shoes. Remember a towel & shower gel (& a bin bag for muddy kit)! All players are expected to join the opposition squad for some post-match food in the host’s clubhouse. You can buy an Alton club tie, shorts & socks from the club shop on Sundays in the clubhouse. A school or other tie can be worn until you get a club tie. Other Alton kit (waterproofs, tracksuits etc) is available online from O’neills: http://www.oneills.com/shop-by-team/rugby/rugby-union/alton-rfc.html

Teamer: The squad uses the Teamer app to manage squad availability for games. You’ll receive an invitation by email. Please follow the instructions in the email to register & please also download the Teamer app (texts are free if you have the app). It's available on android, windows & iPhone.

Social Media: Facebook Page: Facebook.com/altonrfc2000; Facebook Closed Group: Alton RFC 2000; twitter.com@arfc2000. Please follow or like all three, if possible, and check them regularly. Up to date information regarding matches, training or meetings is more easily and quickly disseminated by the use of social media than by email or via the website! Please encourage your sons to access the squad's social media sites and the club website.

Website: The Alton RFC website is: www.alton-rfc.com. Match reports & fixtures are on the U15 pages in the junior section of the site. Definitely worth checking out just to read Dai's match reports & the newsletter.

Catering Duties: Our remaining dates are 25th Jan, 8th Mar & 19th April. Please volunteer for at least one kitchen or bar duty.

Any Q's on the playing side, please ask Head Coach (Dai) or Theo at training. Any other Q's, ask me!
