Alton Rugby Football Club

Weekly update 26 September

We have arranged a friendly at Farnham for this Sunday (03 October), please arrive at 12 noon in number 1's for KO at 1pm.

Well done to the team who played Winchester, it was a really competitive match and no disgrace to lose. Now Winchester have experienced the famous Alton never-say-die spirit and did well to hold us out. Let's keep working at it! The results will come. Specific thanks to those on the bench who didn't get on, your support is invaluable.

A record breaking 3 players turned up without boots forcing parents into unnecessary trips and coaches to give up their most valued footwear! Rumour has it James Forrest remembered his towel.

In other matches in League Division 1; Portsmouth 41-5 New Milton. Our next League opponents have found the going tough! Basingstoke did not turn up for their game at Gosport & Fareham. What on earth is going on there, have the potential champions conceded the title already? We wait to see the outcome of that, assume Basingstoke will not get a losing point and default the win and 3 points to Gosport.

In League Divison 2; Havant 53-10 Tottonians, Trojans 17-31 Jersey.

Great to see so many new faces in the squad, all are very welcome, looks like another fantastic season ahead.

See you Thursday at 7pm for training as usual.
