Alton Rugby Football Club

The week ahead w/c 12 December

Well done to all 20 lads who played against Bracknell, a good game to watch and it looked like a lot of fun to play in. I particularly enjoyed seeing Charlie Hibbert back at #8 and making his barnstorming runs. I thought the forwards did particularly well against a bigger pack and our rucking by both forwards and backs is showing signs of improvement.

Training on Thursday 15th is CANCELLED as we have no coaches available ... club meetings and Christmas parties ... in fairness the training pitch could do with a rest too!

On Sunday we've got a friendly at Petersfield which promises to be a festive treat and with something a little out of the ordinary for you. Number 1's and Santa hats is the dress code, see you at 10:00am for 11:00am kick off.

Players' Player Award - as last season, this end of season award will go to the player who picks up most Man of the Match points. 1 point for a friendly, 2 points for a League match and for player of the tour. Voting is done via the Teamer function - you get a text and email to cast your vote after each game, so please make use of it! Around half of you don't seem to respond to Teamer, which is disappointing as it make the coaches' job a lot harder when we just don't know who is turning out. Please make a New Year's resolution to be more responsive and then get your MOTM votes in. Currently the table is led by Adam Stoller and Krishna Gurung with 4 points each. Oscar Jermyn, Charlie Rands and Dan Mortara have also picked up points.
