Alton Rugby Football Club

The week ahead w/c 16 January

The bag packing and bucket shake at Sainsbury's was an awesome success, thanks to everyone, it was a great team effort.

We raised an impressive £1047.68 which was beyond all our expectations. Martin Andrews and Gary Brench did a great job of organising, Katie Brench's poster was excellent. It was the lads who did all the work though, they performed excellently and we had many appreciative comments from Sainsbury's staff and their customers. The town has really supported us and the boys did themselves and the club proud. Well done everyone!

Our best wishes go to Joe Gwyther who'll be at the Divisional trials next weekend - go Joe!!

Next Sunday is our first home league match of the season, against Portsmouth. The squad is as follows but everyone should be encouraged to come along and support - let's make the most of home field advantage!

All boys in number 1s, showers/changing at Eggar's school. Please arrive at 09:45am ready for warm up at 10:00am. We will warm up on the field at Eggar's, and change into match shirts in the changing rooms before making our way over to Anstey Park for 11:00am kick off.

Alex Adams; James Airey; Ralph Andrews; Ed Benn; Ollie Brench; Tom Bugler; James Forrest; Krishna Gurung; Will Hamer; Alex Heath; Charlie Hibbert; Oscar Jermyn; Fonzy Ledesma; Doug Lowe; Dan Mortara; Ed Pasfield; Joe Randall; Charlie Rands; Ed Simmons; Josh Smith; Adam Stoller; Aaron Whatling

This was the most difficult squad selection we've had to do so please don't feel disappointed if you weren't selected, it was a close call in most positions. The whole squad has shown improvement.

RFU Grand Draw tickets - couple of parents have sold out already and even asked for more tickets. Give me a call if you need more!
